The Sav-Ur-Ride kit was originally developed for emergency use, but it can be left in for as long as you like.. It is not a "limp in" fix. It can be easily removed for lubrication and is re-usable. If you replace the kit with the original equipment cable, you can put it back into your saddle bag and have it in case it's ever needed again.

We are currently testing one on our '04 Touring Cruiser and have about 3,000 miles on it so far with no problems.
